PROBLEM OF THE WEEK…END – DUE MONDAY, NOV. 4

HELLO,

Your directions are:

  1. First, take the dimensions of a dollar bill and reduce it by 25% nine times.  You are to use the handout to draw the size of each reduction (you should have an illustration with 9 rectangles).  Use a ruler that has cm and mm markings.  Round up decimals to whole numbers.
  2. How many times would you have to reduce it for it to be invisible to the human eye?
  3. If you wanted to expand your reduced dollar (the one your reduced nine times) back to its original size with just one increase, what percentage would you need to apply?

There is no other work for the weekend.  This is due Monday.  I will collect it in class.

Good luck!

Chapter 3 Test Tomorrow – Wednesday, Oct. 30 —- Chapter Review work due as well

Team,

Please choose 15 problems to complete on page 197, the Chapter Test.

Please make sure you choose one problem from each section.  Remember that this work will be graded pass/fail.  This is meant to motivate you to work on problems you might normally struggle with.  Again, you’ll receive full credit for attempting 15 problems; you will not be penalized for incorrect answers.

Thanks!
